Eight 60-minute classes via Zoom, 7:00-8:00 pm ET

Tuesdays June 25-Aug. 13, 2024. $190

In 1903, Chicago Fire Dept. Chief Francies O'Neill Published his Music of Ireland, a collection of 1850 tunes that he gathered from the many fiddlers in his department and city. This book has become one of the staple sources for tunes, yet many of them have fallen into obscurity.

We will learn at least a dozen of the lesser-played jigs and reels from O'Neill's, taught by ear and arranged into sets. Stretch your repertoire and impress your session friends! All instruments welcome. You should play at at least an advanced-beginning level.

The Zoom class meetings will be recorded, and the recordings will be available to students for a month after each class.
